Jon Osimo Joins NPEA Board
Jon Osimo joins the board as of January 2022, but is a long-time member and active participant in NPEA. Jon works for the Massachusetts Teacher Retirement System (MTRS) and has done so for over 25 years. He is currently the Assistant Executive Director of Member Services and has held the position since 2015. "I love working with a dedicated team of passionate professionals striving to provide exceptional service to the educators of Massachusetts," says Osimo.
Jon first learned about NPEA in the late 1990’s and attended his first annual conference in Washington, D.C. in November 2000 during the time of the U.S. presidential election. "The conference was spectacular, exceeding all my expectations, as all the conference attendees left our nation’s capital in awe of the city’s grand splendor, yet wondering who would be the next president of the United States?", Osimo states. "Since that first special encounter with NPEA, I’ve attended several other NPEA annual conferences, and I’m always struck by how each conference is valuable, informative, and collaborative."
When asked about serving on the Board, Osimo commented, "I’m very humbled and honored to have been elected to the NPEA Board of Directors. I will work very hard to carry on the rich tradition of serving the NPEA membership in our shared goal to assist public retirement system professionals with resources to anticipate the needs of their members as they plan a retirement that is emotionally, financially and socially satisfying.”
Jon lives in Sturbridge, MA with his wife, two children, and a few fur babies. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, golf, and watching Boston sports.
